WHO IS MISS STANG?!
My name is Eleni Mary Stang, (pronounced Ē-lane-ē),
but in the classroom I am known as Miss Stang, and to some students, Miss Mustang!
I was born and raised in Del Mar, California, which is located in North County San Diego.
Naturally, growing up in North County, I learned how to surf by the age of six,
and to this day surfing is still a huge part of my life and has really been the foundation for who I am today.
I have been a surf instructor/camp counselor for Fulcrum Surf, Sol Surf, and Eli Howard surf camps,
where I have taught surf lessons and mentored kids of all ages in and out of the water for over five years.
My Outlook On Life:
"When the waves of life crash down on you, pick yourself up,
get ready for the next one, and ride it like you own it."
To me, life is a lot like surfing because you can't always stop the waves from hitting you and dragging you down,
but you do have the power to pick the waves you want to conquer and learn how to surf them!
I recently completed my Multiple Subject California Teaching (preliminary) Credential at
Point Loma Nazarene University in 2022
and am looking to begin induction/BTSA to clear my credential.
I completed my masters in 2020 from the University of San Diego (USD),
where I earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (M.Ed.)
through the School of Leadership and Educational Sciences (SOLES) Department.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in 2016 from the University of San Diego (USD)
in Communication Studies with a Philosophy Minor with
Doubles Emphases in Business and Sports Media.
I have experience long-term substitute teaching, day-to-day substitute teaching, student teaching,
co-teaching, observing and being a teacher's aide in all primary grades (K-6),
as well as some experience in middle school (grades 6-8).
I have a tremendous passion for working with kids.
I just love watching their faces light up when they grasp a lesson and succeed in something that was a challenge.
I have been babysitting and tutoring children for over twenty years now,
and I can't imagine my life without working with children and the joy they bring to our lives!
I also have done work with the "community based program", Tutor Connection,
where I had the opportunity to tutor multiple foster children, ranging from third grade to sixth grade.
